What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine, as it is taught in Canada, is a distinct system of health care that addresses the whole body and focuses on treating the root cause of illness.  It encompasses conventional diagnostic methods, such as the physical exam and laboratory tests, but has a broader range of treatment options than conventional medicine. The treatments include herbal medicine, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, clinical nutrition, massage, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and lifestyle counseling.
