Arthritis

Treatments for arthritis depend on the type of arthritis.  The two most common are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease which most commonly affects the last joints of the fingers, the base of the thumb, the hip, knee, big toe and spine.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammation of the joints and usually affects the smaller joints, such as the fingers and wrist.  Many people can have both types of arthritis. Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis both result in much pain and stiffness of the joints.

Natural treatments can significantly improve arthritic symptoms and in some cases may be able to prevent and slow down disease progression:

  • Pain relief through herbs, nutrition, supplements, lifestyle and acupuncture if needed
  • Decreasing inflammation
  • Laboratory tests and medical history to determine possible causes
  • Regulation of the immune system if needed
  • Identifying food sensitivities
  • Improving circulation to joints
  • Joint capsule support
