About Shannon

Shannon Feely, BSc, NDAfter finishing a Bachelor of Science degree, Shannon completed the 4 year graduate program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Canada.

A Canadian Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.) is a primary health care practitioner taught to use conventional medical diagnostic methods such as the physical exam and laboratory tests, combined with natural therapies.  You may think of them as the general practitioner of alternative and complementary medicine.  Naturopathic Doctors provide patients with a truly integrative form of health care and this health care approach has proven successful in treating both chronic and acute conditions.

NDs are doctors for people who are interested in trying the many gentle, less invasive approaches that look to the root cause of maladies and seek to prevent or reduce the need for more invasive methods. Naturopathic Doctors also work with other medical professionals, and are taught to recognize when referral is necessary, to provide you with the best care possible.

In addition to learning the natural therapies, Canadian Naturopathic Doctors receive standard training in medical sciences, as well as, clinical and physical diagnosis, laboratory and diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine and pharmacology.  They are also required to write North American Naturopathic Medical Licensing Exams before they may practice as a licensed Naturopathic Doctor.

Shannon is a fully insured member of the General Council and Register of Naturopaths in Great Britain and the British Naturopathic Association.
